Yes! I also made some humble pie but ended up eating it all myself! I needed it.

    .

It means i believe that meds can and do help some , but not all, people but i have reservations about them.
Those reservations include the way they are overhyped(as are non meds alternatives)/not believing they should be used as a form of social control/
that for some the side effects outweigh the clinical benefits/ and in the case of schizophrenia although they help some people to some degree
they are least successful at treating the cognitive effects of the illness ,which are the most debilitating part of the illness.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

Personally I'm far from convinced that they do any such thing.

    Hey....chocky cake....YUMMY!

QF......I'm so sorry that your docs didn't outline all of the risks to you, it might have changed the outcome. This is why people need to challlenge their treatment, not negatively, I don't mean to 'slag off' treament. I mean to ask about things, discuss things before you go and have questions ready. Some doctors genuinely think they are acting in your interests by not telling you, but in this day and age they have to. This change came about through debate.

JD...your absolutely right, you shouldn't be persecuted for what your beliefs are, some people do get frustrated and go on the offensive, which of course isn't the right thing to do....it becomes personal.

I just want to thank QF and Unremarkable for giving real life examples of why debate is so important. It brings to light problems that would otherwise never be dealt with or make people aware of.

Apo provides some excellent non biased reading, don't completely knock it...I find an open mind is always best

Mark challenges...he just needs to calm it down a little .....hint!
